Terms and Conditions

We kindly request that our clients familiarise themselves with our terms and conditions before making a booking. If you have any questions please contact us, we will be happy to assist you.

 

Booking and Payment Terms and Conditions (Section A)

 

  1. Boarding rates are charged on a daily basis, including the day of arrival and departure.

  2. Boarding rates include food, bedding, cat litter, air conditioning, and cleaning services

  3. Acceptable methods of payment are bank transfer, cash, and card payments. Cheques are not accepted.

  4. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total boarding fee is required to confirm a booking and reserve the chalet.

  5. Chalet reservations are not guaranteed until the deposit is received.

  6. Provisional bookings without a deposit will only be held for a maximum of 3 working days.

  7. The balance of the boarding fees must be paid at least 4 weeks before the first day of boarding.

  8. If a booking is made less than 4 weeks before the commencement of boarding, the boarding fees must be paid in full at the time of reservation.

  9. For reservations made less than 5 working days before the commencement of boarding, fees must be settled in full before boarding commences. 

  10. Non-Refundable Fees
    All fees paid to Catari Cat Hotel, including but not limited to deposits, boarding fees, extension fees, and additional charges, are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances.
    No refunds, credits, or partial refunds will be issued for early collection, late arrival, cancellation, shortening of stay, changes to travel plans, illness of the cat, illness of the owner, personal circumstances, or failure to utilise the full boarding period.
    Unused boarding days are non-refundable regardless of the reason.
    Refunds will not be granted where accommodation has been reserved, staffing arranged, or availability blocked, even if the full stay is not completed.
    Any refund or partial refund issued at the sole discretion of Catari Cat Hotel shall not create a precedent and shall not constitute a waiver of these Terms and Conditions.

  11. Extensions During Boarding
    Requests to extend a boarding stay beyond the original check-out date are subject to availability and approval by Catari Cat Hotel.
    Where an extension is requested on or after the scheduled check-out date, the owner agrees that payment for the extended period must be made on the same day the extension is confirmed, unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing by Catari Cat Hotel.
    Catari Cat Hotel may, at its discretion, allow payment to be made within a short agreed timeframe; however, such allowance shall not constitute a waiver of Catari Cat Hotel’s rights under these Terms and Conditions.
    Any extended stay shall be charged at the prevailing daily boarding rate.
    Failure to settle payment for an agreed extension within the agreed timeframe shall constitute non-payment and shall be dealt with in accordance with Section H (Non-Payment, Retention of Cats & Legal Rights).
    Continued boarding beyond the original booking period without payment shall be considered unpaid boarding and may result in additional daily charges, retention of the cat(s), or further action as outlined in Section H.

 

Medical Terms and Conditions (Section B)

 

  1. Cats are boarded at the sole risk of the owner and whilst every care and precaution will be taken, Catari Cat Hotel cannot be held liable for any loss, illness, injury or death of any animal in their care.

  2. In general, cats will not be accepted for boarding without a valid and up-to-date vaccination card for immunisation against rabies, feline panleukopenia virus, feline rhinotracheitis virus, and feline calicivirus.

  3. Cats who have been recently vaccinated may be shedding a virus and will be required to be housed in our isolation chalets until 14 full days have passed.  There is very limited availability for this accommodation.

  4. Owners must inform us at the time of booking of any medical history which may affect the cat’s stay, including any pre-existing or recurring medical conditions.

  5. Cats over 6 months of age are only accepted for boarding if neutered/spayed, unless agreed by the Catari Cat Hotel, and this may affect the accommodation options.

  6. Flea treatment is mandatory and can be supplied by the Catari Cat Hotel for a fee.

  7. It is recommended that no flea treatment is applied at least 28 days prior to check-in.

  8. We reserve the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of illness.

  9. We will make every effort to administer medication when necessary, but will only give the medication if the cat is cooperative and does not risk causing harm to staff.

  10. If a contagious illness or disease is suspected, we reserve the right to isolate your cat in a designated area or arrange transfer to a veterinary clinic. 

  11. We reserve the right to contact your designated veterinary surgeon to discuss your cat's past or current medical conditions.

  12. In emergency situations, your cat will be transported to the nearest available veterinary clinic at our discretion.

  13. In the event of non-emergency illness or injury, we will use reasonable endeavours to contact you.  However, if this is not possible, any treatment deemed necessary will be carried out without your express consent by a qualified veterinary surgeon or by our trained staff as deemed appropriate.

  14. Veterinary fees for treatment of your cat will be the owner's responsibility.

  15. Any medical treatment costs and hotel fees must be reimbursed to Catari Cat Hotel in full upon collection. Please note that cats will not be released until payment is made in full.

 

Boarding Arrangements and Transport (Section C)

  1. Sharing of accommodation is only available to cats who are considered compatible and are from the same household. We reserve the right to separate cats showing signs of distress or aggression. The appropriate charges will apply.

  2. Additional cats cannot be accommodated in chalets that are already at the specified maximum occupancy capacity.

  3. Cats must be transported to and from the Hotel and enter the building in a secure and suitable pet travel carrier.

  4. Images of your cat may be used for media purposes. 

  5. All belongings are left at the owner's risk.

 

Emergency Contact (Section D)

  1. We require a contact number, which will be used in the event we are unable to contact the owner. This contact number will be used in emergency medical situations or if you are delayed collecting your cat.

 

Food and Feeding (Section E)

  1. Owners are welcome to supply their cat’s favourite or prescription brand of cat food for the duration of the boarding period. There will be no reduction in boarding fees in these circumstances.

  2. Food supplied by the Catari Cat Hotel is subject to availability.

  3. We will use reasonable endeavours to supply and feed as instructed by the owners. However, alternative brands or suitable foods may be fed if the cat is not eating its usual diet.

 

Collection (Section F)

  1. If you are unable to collect your cat during office opening hours, you must make advance arrangements to either book a Pet Taxi or arrange for someone to collect your cat on your behalf. If neither of these options is possible, you must book an extra day’s boarding for which payment will be required. Please note we cannot guarantee boarding for your cat for any extra days. 

  2. If somebody other than you is collecting your cat, please inform us of their details before check-out.

  3. If a guest has not been collected during office opening hours on check-out day, and there has been no communication from the owner, an additional day's boarding fee may be applied.

 

Non-Collection (Section G)

  1. If cats have not been collected within 1 week after the check-out date, and despite best efforts, it has not been possible for us to make contact with the owner or their emergency contact, arrangements will be made for unclaimed cats at the sole discretion of Catari Cat Hotel.

Non-Payment, Retention of Cats & Legal Rights (Section H)

1. Failure to Pay
Failure to settle boarding fees, veterinary fees, transport fees, or any additional charges by the agreed due date shall constitute a breach of contract.

2. Right to Retain Cat
Catari Cat Hotel reserves the full legal right to retain possession of the cat(s) until all outstanding balances have been paid in full.

Cats will not be released under any circumstances until full payment has been received.

3. Late Payment Charges
Any unpaid balance outstanding beyond the agreed payment date may incur an additional daily boarding charge at the prevailing daily rate until payment is settled in full.

4. Abandonment
A cat shall be deemed abandoned if:

  • Payment remains outstanding for more than 7 calendar days, and/or

  • The owner fails to collect the cat after the agreed check-out date, and/or

  • The owner ceases communication or repeatedly delays payment without resolution.

5. Abandoned Cats
In the event of abandonment, Catari Cat Hotel reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

  • Continue boarding and apply ongoing charges

  • Transfer the cat to a veterinary clinic or animal welfare organisation

  • Rehome or surrender the cat

  • Take any action deemed necessary for the welfare of the animal

The cat shall be deemed abandoned, and Catari Cat Hotel may exercise all rights available under applicable laws of the State of Qatar.

6. Recovery of Costs
All costs incurred as a result of non-payment, including but not limited to:

  • Extended boarding

  • Veterinary care

  • Transport

  • Legal fees

  • Debt recovery costs

shall remain the full responsibility of the owner.

7. No Waiver
Failure by Catari Cat Hotel to immediately enforce its rights shall not be deemed a waiver of those rights.

Limitation of Liability & Indemnity (Section I)

  1. Catari Cat Hotel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including emotional distress or financial loss.

  2. The owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Catari Cat Hotel, its staff, and management against any claims, damages, legal costs, or liabilities arising from:

  • The cat’s behaviour

  • Illness or injury not caused by proven negligence

  • Non-disclosure of medical history

  • Failure to pay fees

Governing Law & Jurisdiction (Section J)

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Qatar.

Any disputes arising shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Qatar.

Vaccination Status – Unvaccinated or Not Fully Protected Cats (Section K)

  1. This section must be read in conjunction with Section B (Medical Terms and Conditions) of these Terms and Conditions.

  2. Cats that are not vaccinated, not fully vaccinated, or whose vaccination status is incomplete or unknown may be accepted for boarding strictly at the discretion of Catari Cat Hotel.

  3. Where an owner requests boarding for a cat that is not fully protected, such boarding shall be undertaken at the owner’s sole risk.

  4. The owner acknowledges that, notwithstanding the precautions outlined in Section B, boarding an unvaccinated or not fully protected cat carries an increased risk of illness, infection, or disease.

  5. Catari Cat Hotel shall not be held liable for any illness, injury, deterioration of health, or death arising directly or indirectly from the cat’s vaccination status, except in cases of proven negligence.

  6. Any isolation, special handling, additional cleaning, veterinary treatment, or related measures deemed necessary as a result of the cat’s vaccination status shall be charged to the owner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

  7. Veterinary care, emergency treatment, and associated costs shall be governed by Section B (Medical Terms and Conditions) and remain the full responsibility of the owner.

  8. Catari Cat Hotel reserves the right, in accordance with Section B, to refuse admission or terminate boarding at any time if the cat is deemed to pose a health or safety risk to other animals or staff.

  9. In the event of termination under this section, all boarding fees and incurred charges shall remain payable and non-refundable.

  10. By confirming a booking, paying a deposit, or proceeding with boarding services, the owner confirms acceptance of this section as forming part of the Catari Cat Hotel Terms and Conditions.

Unneutered Cats – Breeding Responsibility (Section L)

  1. This section must be read in conjunction with Section B (Medical Terms and Conditions) of the Catari Cat Hotel Terms and Conditions.

  2. Cats over six (6) months of age are accepted for boarding only if neutered or spayed, unless otherwise expressly agreed by Catari Cat Hotel at its sole discretion.

  3. Where Catari Cat Hotel agrees to accept an unneutered male or female cat, such boarding is undertaken at the owner’s sole risk.

  4. The owner acknowledges that the presence of unneutered cats carries an inherent risk of mating, breeding, pregnancy, and the birth of offspring.

  5. The owner accepts full responsibility for any pregnancy, litter, or offspring that may result directly or indirectly from the boarding of unneutered cats.

  6. Catari Cat Hotel shall not be held liable for any costs, illness, injury, death, loss, or legal obligations arising from or related to:

    • breeding activity,

    • pregnancy,

    • birth of offspring, or

    • care, ownership, or rehoming of any offspring.

  7. All veterinary expenses, medical treatment, housing, feeding, and care associated with pregnancy or offspring shall be the sole responsibility of the owner.

  8. The owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Catari Cat Hotel, its owners, management, and staff from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from breeding activity or offspring during the boarding period.

  9. Catari Cat Hotel reserves the right to take any reasonable action deemed necessary to protect the welfare of the cats, staff, or premises, including separation, isolation, veterinary referral, or termination of boarding, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

  10. In the event of termination under this section, all boarding fees and incurred charges shall remain payable and non-refundable.

  11. By confirming a booking, paying a deposit, or proceeding with boarding services, the owner confirms acceptance of this section as forming part of the Catari Cat Hotel Terms and Conditions.

Force Majeure (Section M)

Catari Cat Hotel shall not be held liable for failure or delay in the performance of its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to government restrictions, municipal orders, disease outbreaks, pandemics, natural disasters, power or utility failures, fire, or any other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

In such events, no refunds shall be due, and all outstanding fees shall remain payable.

 

Amendments to Terms and Conditions

Catari Cat Hotel reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time.

Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the current Terms and Conditions.

 

Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, such provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

 

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the owner and Catari Cat Hotel and supersede all prior discussions, representations, or communications, whether written or verbal.

No variation shall be valid unless confirmed in writing by Catari Cat Hotel.

By making a booking, submitting a form, paying a deposit, or using the services of Catari Cat Hotel, the owner confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
